Elon Musk urges US–EU free trade zone

Could it be that Elon Musk, head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), does not fully support the tariff policies of his boss, President Donald Trump? Hard to believe! However, the facts speak for themselves. Musk has publicly called for a US–EU free trade zone, directly contradicting Trump’s stance.
The American billionaire has proposed the creation of a free trade zone between the United States and the European Union, even though President Trump has firmly rejected such an initiative. "I hope it is agreed that both Europe and the United States should move, ideally, in my view, to a zero-tariff situation, effectively creating a free trade zone between Europe and North America," Musk stated, speaking at a conference of Matteo Salvini's League party in Italy.
In Musk’s view, the freedom of movement and employment within the eurozone should be extended to the United States as well. As head of DOGE, he claimed to have offered this very advice to President Trump.
Previously, Tesla and SpaceX's CEO openly criticized advocates for prolonging the Russia–Ukraine conflict. “I have no respect for the warmongers, and the war profiteers and those who want the war to continue forever. This is an evil thing,” Musk declared.
