Trump to put pressure on BRICS with high tariffs

US President-elect Donald Trump is once again attempting to intimidate the global community. This time, his target is the BRICS alliance as he threatens to impose 100% tariffs. However, the alliance could retaliate with countermeasures.

The newly elected leader of the White House voiced his willingness to slap 100% tariffs on imports from BRICS countries. “We demand a commitment from them that they will neither create a new common currency nor support any alternative currency to replace the mighty US dollar. Otherwise, BRICS will face 100% tariffs!” Trump declared on his social media platform, Truth Social.

The US president-elect emphasized that the alliance will not be able to develop its own payment instrument as an alternative to the dollar because the United States will not “stand idly by.” According to Trump, “you’d have to be a fool” to watch such actions unfold without taking measures.

Meanwhile, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has arrived in Florida to meet with the president-elect. They are going to hold talks concerning the imposition of new tariffs on goods imported from Canada.
