تم تطوير هذا المؤشر من قبل Daniel Fernandez فى عام 2011 وتم نشره فى مجلة Currency Trader. هذه المؤشر هو نسخة معدلة لمؤشر Elder-Ray للمحلل الفنى Alexander Elder، والذى يعتمد على قوة الدببة والثيران وايضاً المتوسط المتحرك الآسى فترة 13 يوم EMA-13.
Total Power = Abs (BearCount - BullCount)*100 / Lookback Period;
BearPower = BearCount*100/ Lookback Period;
BullPower = BullCount*100/Lookback Period.
تم تطوير مؤشر Elder-ray لتحديد الاتجاه. فكرة ضغط الدببة والثيران هى أساس المؤشر.
الطريقة المستخدمة فى مؤشر Elder-ray تعتمد على ثلاثة مؤشرات فنية، والتى تعرض تقلبات البيع والشراء للأسعار. يتضمن المؤشر EMA-13 وايضاً مؤشرين آخرين لـ Alexander Elder وهما مؤشر قوة الشراء ومؤشر قوة البيع.
مشكلة استخدام هذا النهج هو عدم وجود إشارات واضحة لدخول السوق عند وجود أخبار قوية للعملات.
مؤشر Total Power تم تطويره لتوفير توقعات لتغيرات الأسعار فى السوق، فضلاً عن المقارنة بين الأسعار الحالية والسابقة.
توجد عدة طرق لاستخدام هذا المؤشر:
